Thomas Purdue, one of Fountain County's oldest residents passed away at his home, Attica, RR 4, Thursday night. He had been ill for some time.

Thomas Purdue, son of Abraham and Margaret Byers Purdue, was born in Centerville, Iowa, Feb 13, 1856.  On March 25, 1880 he was united in marriage to Eva Hatfield who preceded him in death Sept 1944.  He was a highly respected farmer in Fountain County for many years.

He was a member of the Union Christian Church and Masonic Lodge of Attica. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank Campbell, Attica, RR, three grandchildren, Mrs. Earl Crowder, Covington, RR and Horace Robert Campbell and four great grandchildren.   --- transcribed by kbz
