Henry Purnell, 82, retired farmer and hardware store proprietor of Veedersburg, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, following an emergency operation.    Mr. Purnell was born Nov. 6, 1861 near Hillsboro, the son of Frank and Malina Livengood Purnell. He was married Sept. 1, 1888 to Laura Lough who preceded him in death 10 years ago.    Mr. Purnell was a member of Prairie Chapel Christian Church and the Valetta Chapter, Order of Eastern Star at Veedersburg.    Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Myers, with who Mr. Purnell lived on a farm south of Veedersburg; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.   The body was taken Monday from J. Fred Parham Funeral Home to the daughter’s home where it will remain until the funeral hour. Further arrangements are incomplete pending word from two of Mr. Purnell’s grandsons in the service. – thanks to “S”
