Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Funeral services for Mrs. Halcie Purvis, age 80, a former resident of Veedersburg, who died Sunday evening, July 31, in Superior, Wis., were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the First Christian Church in Veedersburg. The Rev. James Dyson officiated and burial was in Crown View Cemetery at Sheridan. The Parham Funeral Home of Veedersburg was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Purvis, who resided with her daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Cronk, in Superior, had been ill several months. She was married twice, first to Harry Gunn, and they lived in Veedersburg while he was manager of the Indiana Condensed Milk Co. He preceded her in death. She later married Charles Purvis, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Veedersburg. Surviving in addition to the daughter, at whose home she died, are: four sons, Cyrus of Martinsville, John of Hammond, Bill of Lafayette and Halton of Illinois.  -- typed by Walt W
