COVINGTON — Mrs. Lydia Amanda Pyle, age 80, a resident of Clinton for 60 years and the sister of the late Carl (Butch) James of Covington, died at 2:45 a.m. Friday, July 5, in the Vermillion County Hospital in Clinton. She was hospitalized about four weeks and had been in failing health for an extended period. Mrs. Pyle was born March 28, 1888 in Parkersburg, the daughter of Benton and Laura Nicholas James. Her husband, Nova Pyle, preceded her in death in 1953. She is survived by: one daughter, Mrs. Betty Armstrong of Marion; and one brother, Harley James of Crawfordsville. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Frist Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Park, between Clinton and Terre Haute. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Smail and Mrs. Clova James of Covington visited the funeral home on Saturday.  -- typed by Walt W
