FAIRMOUNT — Grover E. Rice, 84, of Fairmount Route 1, died at 8:45 a. m. Thursday ( June 28, 1973) at the Danville veterans Administration Hospital. He had been a patient for two weeks. He was born Oct. 24, 1888, in Newtown, Ind., the son of James and Florence Keyt Rice. His wife, Helen, survives. They were married Nov. 6, 1941, in Westville. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Reister of Mellott, Ind., and Miss Wanita Rice of Hillsboro, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of Mellott, Elks and Moose Lodges of Danville and American Legion Post 51 of Westville. He also was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. He had worked as railroad carman for the C&EI Railroad, before retirement. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Berhalter-Irvin Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Msgr. J.L. Siesel will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Sunset Memorial Park pending completion of the mausoleum of St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.   --typed by Walt W
