Miss Oveta Aneta Rice, 43, teacher for the past 20 years died at her home in Mellott, Sunday morning at 6 o'clock.. She had been ill since April when she suffered a stroke of paralysis. Another stroke on Tuesday of last week hastened her death. Miss Rice had taught in the Richland township schools for the past 13 years. She was graduated from Madame Blacker's later had attended Teachers College at Indianapolis and later had attended school at Purdue University and Indiana State Teachers College at Terre Haute. She was born May 27, 1900 in the home where she died, the daughter of James and Florence Keyt Rice. Miss Rice was a member of the Christian Congregational Church at Mellott and of the Order of Eastern Star at Newtown. Miss Rice, and her twin sister, Waneta Ineta Rice, who resided at home, won first prize for being the most identical twins in their age class at the recent Twins Reunion of New Castle. Survivors besides the twin sister include other sisters, Miss Robinett Rice of Auburn, Mrs Myron Dice of Veedersburg, Mrs Homer Reister, of Mellott and Mrs Hugh DeAth of Mellott and three brothers, James W. Rice of Mellott, Clarence Ri e of near Mellott, and Grover Rice of Fairmount, Illinois. Funeral services were held at the Church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. CP Strawmyer, pastor of the church in charge. Burial was in the Old Baptist Cemetery.   -- kbz
