RICE, William Issac

Mrs. Elwood Davidson, Hillsboro, accompanied by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Ernest Chester of Newtown attended the funeral service of their uncle, William Isaac Rice, 75, held at the Edmund & Dickson Funeral Home in
Danville, Ill on Friday at 12:30 o'clock.  Mr. Rice, a former resident of Fountain County and who was widely known died at his home at 209 1/2 East Madison Street, Danville on Tuesday afternoon June 6.  He had been
in failing health but was seriously ill only a few days.

He was the son of Jackson and Lucinda Mils Rice and was born west of Newtown on October 26, 1868.  He resided in Terre Haute for a number of years and was preceded in death by his wife 29 years ago. Later he moved to Danville, Ill where he has lived for 15 years. The survivors are one sister, Mrs. Lydia Smith of Danville; 7 nephews and four nieces. The Rev. JT Myers of Danville officiated at the funeral service and burial
was made in the family lot in Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute. --- transcribed by kbz
