Miss Laverna Ricketts, age 61, a native of Fountain County, died at 3:15 p. m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, in a hospital in Indianapolis where she had been a patient since Jan. 4. She was born Nov. 28, 1900 near Cates in Fountain County, the daughter of William and Evaline Florence Allen Ricketts. She had been a life resident of Fountain and Vermillion counties. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Cenith Blacketer of Cates, Mrs. Odilla Younger of Perrysville and Mrs. Ruby Whiteman of Brownsburg. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a. m. Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. E. V. Wamsley officiated and burial was in Snoddy's Cemetery, south of Covington. --typed by Walt W
