COVINGTON, Ind. — Marjorie M. (Corey) Ricketts, 94, died at 5:20 p.m. EST Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in The Waters of Covington, Ind. She was born Nov. 11, 1913, in Fountain County, Ind., to Chancie Earl and Nina (Cox) Corey. She graduated from Covington High School in 1931. She married Roy Fields Ricketts on Nov. 16, 1931, in Danville, and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1991. Mrs. Ricketts was a lifelong resident of Fountain County and was a past member of Salem United Methodist Church and a current member of Fountain Christian Church in Portland. She was a longtime Sunday school teacher. She was a founding member and past president of the Rural Troy Home Extension Club. She enjoyed crocheting and won several ribbons at the Fountain County Fair. She and Roy used to square dance and enjoyed spending their winters in Zephyrhills, Fla. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Galloway and Anne Smith; two granddaughters, Cathy Pacheco and Sabrina Smith, all of rural Covington; two grandsons, Mike Galloway (Ellen) of Overland Park, Kan., and Matt Galloway (Dawn) of Ballwin, Mo.; nine great-grandchildren, Corey Quinonez, Amanda and Tyler Pacheco, Ryan, Courtney and Kelsey Galloway and Megan, Emily and Eric Galloway; a sister-in-law, Betty (Coffing) Corey; two nieces and several cousins. She was preceded by parents, two brothers and two sons-in-law, Ed Galloway and Freeman Smith. A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. EST Tuesday Jan. 8, 2008, at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, with Rev. Bud Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 47 p.m. EST Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Fountain Christian Church with envelopes available at the funeral home. – jlr
