Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Services for Russell T. Rife, 76, of 108 Delaware, who died yesterday (March 2, 1968) at Mercy Hospital in Urbana where he had been admitted a few hours earlier, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pape Memorial Home. The Rev. Joe C. Detamore will officiate, with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Born Sept. 19, 1891, in Indiana, he was the son of Gerard and Elizabeth Barnhart Rife. He had lived in Danville since about 1900 and at the Delaware St. address for 13 years. He worked at Western Brick Co., on the city fire department and was an engineer at the sanitary district plant for 14 years. He also worked as a maintenance man at Roselawn School for eight years and was last employed at Woodbury Book Co. He was a former member of the Redman's Lodge, Danville Sportsman's Club and the Operating Engineers, Local 966. He attended Vermilion Heights Methodist Church. Survivors include: His widow, the former Mabel Briley; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Eleanor) Poulter of Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. (Marilyn) Smith of Champaign; a brother, William, of Troy, Ohio; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Seven brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.   --typed by Walt W
