STRINGTOWN — David C. Riley, 85, of Rt. 1 Covington, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient two weeks. He was born June 4, 1881 in Fulton Township, Fountain County, a son of John and Mary Riley. He was married to Grace Chatt on Feb. 11, 1910. Mr. Riley was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge and was a life resident of Fountain County. He was a retired coal miner. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Joe and Darrell, both of Rt. 1 Covington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cunningham of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Daisy Thayer of Lafayette and Mrs. Lottie Wallace of Boswell, and several nieces and nephews. Three daughters and five sons preceded him in death. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Snoddys Cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home.   --typed by Walt W
