Clara W. Cox Rindfleish, 789 of Veedersburg died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday June 6, 1997 in Covington Manor Healthcare Center. She had been ill for the past five years and a patient there for one week.  Born March 15, 1919 in Veedersburg, she was the daughter of Cecil and Nora (Berlin) Cox.  She was the widow of Dr. CE Rifleman.  He died in San Juan, Porta Rico while they were on a cruise in 1984.  Both were seasoned travelers having visited many countries.  They lived in Tulsa, Okla for many years where he was a practicing dentist; later moving to Bemidji, Minn and spent their last years together in New Port Richey, Fla.  She later married Dr. Rifleman’s college roommate, Dr. Marvin Rindfleish of West Bend, Wisc. He survives.  Mrs. Rindfleish returned to her hometown of Veedersburg in 1992 due to her ill health. Also surviving are a stepson, Thomas E. Rifleman of Antonio, Tex (sic – San Antonio?); three stepgrandsons, Bruce A. Rifleman of Corey, NC Jeff D. Rifleman of Sandy, Utah and Dr. Kurt E. Rifleman of South Ogden, Utah; sever cousins, namely: Nora L. Jones, Donna J. Mayotte and Bill Berlin all of Crawfordsville; Gene a. Francis, Bettie (Francis) Reed and Jac Berlin all of Veedersburg; Thelma Scott of Attica; Betty Goodson of Fremont; Gayle Whisler (Dian) of Santa Marie, Calif; Mary (Whisler) Pettigrew of Westville, Ill and a sister-in-law, Sue Cox of Veedersburg.  She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Hobart and a brother, Norman Eugene “Shag” Cox.  Visitation from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Parham-Shelby Funeral Home, Veedersburg.  Graveside service at 2 p.m. Friday in Rockfield Cemetery with Rev. Edwin Retter officiating. – kbz
