Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

James Morton Roach, age 79, a resident of the community for the past 40 years, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at his home on Eleventh St., near the overhead bridge. He had been in ill health for several years. Mr. Roach was born March 10, 1884, in Hannibal, Mo., the son of Patrick and Naomi Fulton Roach. He was married Nov. 6, 1907, to Bertha Rinderknecht, who survives. He had been a painter and grainer of wood. Prior to his residency in Covington he had lived in Indianapolis for 33 years. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: one brother, Frank of Williamsport; and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Peters of Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hegg Funeral Home here. The Rev. Robert Hurd and the Rev. Paul Schunn officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
