Veedersburg — Ralph W. Roach, who would have been 74 years old Sunday, died this morning at Lake View Hospital, Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient two days. He had been in ill health the last seven years. Born in Eugene, Ind., Dec. 17, 1893, he was the son of Lewis and Lucinda Woodard Roach. His marriage in Covington, Nov. 11, 1915, was to Hattie Lashbrook, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Harold (Shorty) Roach of Silver City, N. Mex.; three grandchildren, Gayle of Rock Springs, Wyo., Phil Lee of Fresno, Calif., and Michael Dwain of Kingsburg, Calif.; two great grandchildren, Terrisa Kay and Brian Todd of Fresno; a sister, Ruth Bullock of Rossville, Ind.; two brothers, Raymond of Dinuba, Calif., and Edgar of Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by a son, Lewis in 1959. Mr. Roach was formerly employed by Indiana Condensed Milk Co. 18 years. He was a retired carpenter. Funeral services were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Parham Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Wilhite officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.   --typed by Walt W

Veedersburg, Ind. (CNS) — Services were July 24 in Silver City, N.M., for Harold M. Roach, 54, a former Veedersburg resident, who died July 20, 1973. He was a superintendent for Maganese Mines where he had a heart attack while at work. He had been a resident of Silver City for six years. Born July 19, 1919, in Fountain County, he was the son of Ralph and Hattie Lashbrook Roach. He married Virginia Weaver of Veedersburg, who survives. Mr. Roach was an insurance agent for the Prudential Insurance Co. He also was self-employed as a trucker. He had served in World War II as a seabee in the Navy. He was a member of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge. Survivors also include a daughter, Mrs. Gayle Kurtz of Austin, Tex. A brother preceded him in death.   --typed by Walt W
