ROACH, Virginia Weaver

Veedersburg – Virginia Weaver Roach, 69, Austin, Texas, a former Veedersburg resident, died at her home in Austin, June 6, 1992. She was born July 31, 1922 at Fidell, Ill, the daughter of Clyde and Ina Gallian Weaver. She married Harold “Shorty” Roach in 1941. He preceded in death July 19, 1973. She was a graduate of VHS in 1940. She had been employed by Dillard’s Department Store for several years. Surviving are a daughter, Gayle Kurtz, Rock Springs, Wyo, two granddaughters, Kerie and Dawn Kurtz, Rock Springs, Who; her mother, Ina Weaver, Covington Manor; four sisters, Rubila Brown, Matlachla, Fla; Alice Simons, Muncie; Mildred Shepherd, Oklahoma City, Okla and Ruth Powell, Veedersburg. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother. Tentatively memorial services are schedule for Tuesday at Chapel of the Hills, Austin. Burial will be held later in Silver City, New Mexico.
