VEEDERSBURG — Funeral services for Charles Daniel Robinson, 26, who drowned Sunday at Ft. Mead, Fla. have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the Stone Bluff Methodist Church. Revs. Conley Rowland and Earl Carmichael will officiate. Mr. Robinson, a resident of the Stone Bluff community, had gone to Florida about three weeks ago to seek employment. Born Jan. 11, 1942, in Covington, he was the son of Stanley and Norma Jean Hagley Robinson. He married Sherry Biddle Dec. 11, 1960. He was a member of the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church. He had formerly been employed at the Harrison Steel Castings, Inc. in Attica and the Marshall Studios in Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include the widow and two sons, Charles Daniel Jr. and William Brian, both at home; his father of Leland, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Sharon Davis of Covington, and a stepsister, Miss Sherry Rae George of Attica. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends may call at the Sever Mortuary in Veedersburg Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.


VEEDERSBURG — Charles Daniel Robinson, age 26, a resident of Veedersburg Rt. 4, was drowned at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, while swimming at Fort Meade, Fla., where he had been for the past three weeks. The young man was born in Covington Jan. 11, 1942, the son of Stanley and Norma Jean Hagley Robinson. He was married Dec. 11, 1960 to Sherry Biddle, who survives. He had been a resident of Covington, Attica and Rockville and for the past eight years of Veedersburg Rt. 4. He formerly was employed at Harrison Steel Castings Co., in Attica and Marshall Studios in Veedersburg. He was a member of the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church and the Veedersburg Civil Defense Unit. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: two sons, Charles Daniel Jr., age 5, and William Brian, age 4; his father of Leland, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Sharon Davis of Covington; one step sister, Miss Sherry Raye George of Attica; and his maternal grandfather, William Hagley of Covington Rt. 3. He was preceded in death by his mother. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Stone Bluff United Church with Rev. Conley Rowland and Rev. Earl Carmichael in charge. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery near Covington. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Sever Mortuary, Veedersburg.
