STATE LINE, Ind. (CNS) —Carl Lester Roderick, 57, of State Line, was pronounced dead-on-arrival at Lake View Memorial Hospital at 3:45 a.m. today (July 2, 1969). Death was attributed to natural causes. Born Feb. 24, 1912, in Vermilion County, Ill., he was the son of Simeon E. and Tina Florence Schull Roderick. He married Caroll Gaskin, Jan. 22, 1935, at South Bend. Mrs. Roderick attended grade school in Newell township and Danville High. He was last employed by International Harvester in Danville as a salesman, where he worked for 18 years before retiring in 1967. Prior to that, he had been a farmer. He was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church, the State Line Masonic Lodge the Danville Gao Grotto, and the Danville Moose. His hobbies were flowers and woodworking. Surviving are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. William (Shirley) Engle of Danville, Mrs. Kenneth (Sandy) Tuggle of Covington; and Miss Sue Roderick of State Line; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Lake of Danville and Mrs. Opal Smith of Indiana, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Services will be at 1 p.m. CDT Saturday at the Pape Memorial Home in Danville with burial in Walnut Corner Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Masonic services will be conducted at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. CDT Friday.   --typed by Walt W
