S. E. Roderick, 86, of 208 Nicklas, died at 8:30 p.m. yesterday (June 30, 1964) in the Danville Care Nursing Home where he had been a patient since April 17. Mr. Roderick, a retired farmer, was a life resident of the Danville area. Born July 18, 1877, in Newell Township, he was a son of Francis M. and Catherine Shindler Roderick. He was married in Danville in 1905 to Tina F. Schuff. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Lake of Danville and Mrs. Opal Smith of New Richmond, Ind.; three sons, Arthur of Tipp City, Ohio, and Carl and Garlen of State Line, Ind.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters, three brothers and a son. Mr. Roderick was a member of the State Line Christian Church and the Modern Woodmen of America. His hobby was gardening. The body is at the Pape Memorial Home where friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with C. M. Read officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Corner Cemetery. --typed by Walt W
