Hoopeston --(CNS)— Funeral services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday at the Hamilton Funeral Home, Hoopeston, for Mrs. Gladys Maye Rodgers, who was killed by a train at 2:05 p. m. Wednesday. The Rev. Boyd L. Rudd, pastor of the Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p. m. Friday. Mrs. Rodgers was killed instantly when her auto was struck by Nickel Plate passenger train 21 at the Sixth and Main Sts. crossing in Hoopeston. The auto was turned around and the front end was demolished. The crew of the train, due in Hoopeston again Thursday, was met by Coroner John Cole, who conferred on a date for the inquest. They included Engineer William McGee and Conductor C. A. Owen, both of Frankfort, Ind., Fireman Oland Small and Brakeman Frank Lyon. A daughter, Mrs. Betty Lou Russell, Hoopeston, who had lived with her mother until her recent marriage, was located in Tampa, Fla., where she and Russell were honeymooning. They will return to Hoopeston Friday morning. Mrs. Rodgers was the widow of Frank Rodgers, who formerly operated restaurants in Hoopeston and Gibson City. She was born July 6, 1895, in Yeddo, daughter of George and Hulda Hutts, and was married to Mr. Rodgers in 1918 in Hattiesburg, Miss. She had resided here since that time, except for five years spent in Gibson City. She was a life member of the Veedersburg United Brethren Church. Mrs. Rodgers had resided at 616 1/2 Honeywell Ave., and was moving to 602 S. Fifth St. She is survived by her mother in Veedersburg: three children, Marvin, Kankakee; Mrs. Louise Jenkins, near Cheneyville, and Mrs. Russell; a brother, Clyde Hutts, Fort Wayne, Ind., and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her father and one grandchild.   --typed by Walt W
