Attica – Carl H. Roebling, 90, formerly of Attica, died at 11:15 a.m. Dec 4 in his residence. He was residing at 6515 – 15th St East, Sarasota, Fla.
He was born in Louisville, KY Oct 10, 1905. He was the son of Carl and Amanda Shank Roebling. He lived in Attica for many years and moved to Sarasota in 1970. He had worked at Harrison Steel Castings Co. in Attica for many years retiring in 1967. After his move to Florida he worked for the Sarasota Junior College for 2 ½ years. He was a member of West Side Christian Church in Sarasota, the Wabash Lodge 708 F&AM, the Scottish Rite of Tampa and the Order of the Amaranth where he served in the Past Grand Royal Patron for the state of Florida.
He married Dorothy Jones on May 5, 1938 in Covington. She survives and lives in Sarasota. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. June Byers, Bloomington; a niece, Mrs. Garlyn (Sandy) Sundt, Attica; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild Memorial services will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Attica at 1 p.m. Dec 17 with the Wabash Lodge 708 F&AM officiating. Burial of ashes will follow. – kbz
