ROGERS, William Lewis

William Lewis Rogers, 74, passed away Sunday morning April 18, at his home about 8 miles southwest of Veedersburg.

He was born Sept 5, 1868 the son of Lewis and Mary Keller Rogers and had been a farmer in this community his entire life.  Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Durham Rogers and one son, Floyd.

He is survived by eight children: Harry Rogers and Bernice Alward of Veedersburg; Lula Mitchell and Verna Dazey of Wingate; Minerva Grenard of New Ross; Gertrude Humphreys of Crawfordsville; Fred Rogers of Frankfort and Russell Rogers of Oakwood, Ill.

The body remained at the family residence until the hour of the funeral services at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Coopers Chapel with Rev. JC Shrigley of the Veedersburg United Brethren Church officiating. Burial was made in Cooper's Ford Cemetery with the Parham Funeral Home in charge.   --- transcribed by kbz
