ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) — Freeman A. Roland, 82, of 301 E. Jackson, died at 4 a.m. Monday (Sept. 2, 1968) at his home. He had been ill five years. Born in Veedersburg on Jan. 24, 1886, he was the son of Henry and Mary Roland. He was married to Bessie Roarks who preceded him in death in July, 1936. In May, 1943, he married Allie Bunch. He had lived in the Veedersburg area where he attended school. He moved to Lafayette and later to Tab for 15 years before moving to Attica about 10 years ago. He was a former coal miner and plumber and had worked at Home and St. Elizabeth Hospitals in Lafayette for several years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He is survived by the widow; two sons, James of Lafayette and Robert of Summerfield, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Ira (Carrie) Mickle of Attica, and 10 grandchildren. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Foraker officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery at Veedersburg.
