Funeral services for Charles Moore Royal, 50, who died Saturday of a heart attack in Chicago, were held Monday afternoon at the New Antioch Christian Church of which he was a member. The Rev. Guy T. Walters
officiated and burial was in Campbells Chapel Cemetery, with the Crumley Funeral Home in charge. The body was removed from the Funeral Home, Hillsboro to the home of his mother, Mrs. Flora Haxton, Mellott.
Mr. Royal, who was a barber here 15 years, recently was employed at a health resort in Chicago. He was born Sept 20, 1898 in Mellott, son of Charles and Flora Hibbs Royal. He was married Oct 8, 1918 , to Marguerite Minnick Mellott, who now resided in Lafayette, Ind. Survivors are his mother, a daughter, Mrs. June Michaels, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Derrington, Lafayette and a grandson. --- transcribed by kbz
