ROYER, Nellie Shipman

LINDEN—Mrs. Nellie Royer, a resident of this community the past 56 years, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth's Hospital at Lafayette. She had been a patient there one week. Mrs. Royer was educated in Fountain County schools and was a member of Linden Kirkpatrick Methodist Church. She was born Feb. 25, 1886 in Fountain County, daughter of Francis M. and Lucinda Stull Shipman. She married John M. Royer March 5, 1907. He died in July of 1958. Surviving are two sons, Robert of Linden and Fred of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Dunbar of Indianapolis and Mrs. Edgar Scott of Reynolds; three brothers, Ray Shipman of Linden, John Shipman of Hammond and Harry Shipman of Russellville, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Sadie Hobson of Kingman, Mrs. Delbert Todd of Indianapolis, Mrs. John Meade of Marine City, Mich. and Mrs. Ross Teegarden of Deland, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William, and two brothers and a sister. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Helms Funeral Chapel here with Rev. Willis Syphers officiating. Interment will be in Linden Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at Helms Funeral Chapel.   --typed by Walt W
