Thomas M. Rupert, 85, Attica, died 4:25 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006 in VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville, Ill. He was born May 10, 1921 in Baltimore, Md., the son of Archie and Wilma (Weatherford) Rupert. He was a graduate of Attica High School and received an associate degree from Indiana University. He served during World War II in the U. S. Army. At the time of his discharge he had obtained the rank of private first class. He had resided in Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica since 1976. There was no immediate survivors. A military gravesite memorial service was at 11 a.m. Monday in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with Chaplain Dick Wagner officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of local arrangements. – jlr
