FOWLER – John Everett Russell, 77, a retired farmer and father of Fowler Elementary School principal Rex Russell, died unexpectedly in his home at Bloomingdale at 6 p.m. Friday, apparently of a heart attack. He was a lifelong resident of Parke County. In 1925, he was married in Fountain County to Valaria McMasters, who survives. Mr. Russell was a trustee of Bloomingdale United Methodist Church. He was former director of Parke County Farm Bureau Co-op, a 30-year member of Federal Land Bank and at the time of his death was serving on the board of directors. He also was a member of Pen Township Advisory Board, and was past master of Bloomingdale Masonic Lodge 27 F & AM and Parke county Low 12 Club. Surviving with the widow and son are two other sons, Hugh Russell of Bloomingdale and J C Russell of Marshall; and a sister Lola Wilkinson of Robinson, Ill. Services were held today in Rockville.   -– jlr
