MELLOTT -- William Albert Rutledge, 58, farmer, died at home 1 1/2 miles west of Mellott Tuesday evening, after a serious illness, following a major operation to which he submitted six weeks ago at the Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Ill. Mr. Rutledge had been in failing health for the past two years. Since he was admitted to the Lakeview Hospital he was twice dismissed and once re-instated. Complications caused his death. Mr. Rutledge was born Jan. 5, 1896, at Missions Field, Ill., the son of Charles and Jane Cannon Rutledge. As a youth six years of age he came with his parents to the Mellott community and he had lived here in Richland Township continuously since then. He was a farmer by occupation. Mr. Rutledge was married May 23, 1916, to Electa Brown, of Veedersburg. Mrs. Rutledge died in 1945. Mr. Rutledge is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Glen Delong of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Lewis McClain of Southe Bend; four grandchildren and one brother, Fred Rutledge, a farmer, residing in the Mellott community. Funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed, as the arrival of the two daughters is being awaited. The daughter from California is expected to fly here. The body is at the Fred Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. --typed by Walt W

MELLOTT — Funeral services for William Allen Rutledge, 58, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Fred Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Mr. Rutledge, prominent farmer, died at the Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Ill., Tuesday night after an extended illness. --typed by Walt W
