ATTICA β€” Robert J. β€œRed” Sigman, 73, 3065 N. Independence-Pine Village Road, died at 1:42 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000 at his residence. He was born Dec. 6, 1926 in Wolcott. He married Norma B. Walker March 20, 1966 in Lafayette. She survives. He had resided in Warren County 13 years. In 1982, he retired as a salesman from Kraft Co., working there 25 years. After retiring he worked at Wolcott Veterinary Clinic. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of Independence Riverview Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 455, and a life member of the American Legion of Attica. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a daughter, Bonnie J. Burton, Clearwater, Fla.; a step son, Kenny Lee Thomas, Lafayette; two step daughters, Charlotte Lee, Tennessee and Rita Gaddis, Independence; a brother, Jim Sigman, Goshen; two sisters, Vera Mae, Florida and Pat Cerring, Reynolds; a half brother, Virgil, Rockville; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Independence Riverview Methodist Church with Pastor James Nickles officiating. Burial was in Independence Cemetery. Hippensteel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Independence Riverview Methodist Church. – jlr
