Funeral services for Fred Simmerman, age 57, who died at his home in Veedersburg Monday, Aug. 21, were held at the Fishero Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 23. The Rev. Jack Miller officiated and burial was in the Rockfield Cemetery. Mr. Simmerman, who had been ill a year, was employed at the Hydraulic Press Brick Co. for 30 years. He was born in Veedersburg on June 23, 1904, the son of Burton and Rosa Butts Simmerman. He was married in 1958 to Flossie Smith, who survives along with two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bashman and Mrs. Helen Thomas, both of Veedersburg. Mr. Simmerman was an Army veteran of World War II. --typed by Walt W
