Attica – Miss Mary Helen Simmons, 50, prominent Attica elementary school teacher, died of coronary occlusion Friday at 1:15 p.m. in her school room.  Born in Fountain County, she had lived in or near Attica most of her life and had attended Attica grade and high schools. She graduated from the Indiana State Teachers’ college and taught in various Indiana schools which included Independence, Winthrop, Rob Roy, Elkhart, Indianapolis, Boswell, Oxford, Crawfordsville, Attica and Lafayette. Since the death of her mother three years ago, she had lived with her father, Charles Simmons who is her only immediate survivor.
