Albert Smith, 79, a life long resident of Veedersburg, died
Saturday afternoon (May 10) at 2 o'clock in St. Elizabeth Hospital,
Danville where he had been a patient for the past 3 weeks. Born
Aug 30, 1868 in
Veedersburg, he was the son of Martin and Katherine
Rosenbarger Smith. He married Ollie Ray who preceded him in death 29 years
ago. His early years were spent as a farmer and he later served for 18
years as street commissioner and pump operator at the powerhouse.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Audrey Haas; two sons, Gordon
and Walter; a sister, Mrs. Almeda Kenner and a brother, Charles Smith,
all of Veedersburg. Nine grandchildren and three great
grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2
o'clock at the Veedersburg United Brethren Church with Rev. OW
McGaughey officiating. Burial in Rockfield Cemetery with Fishero in
