Charles B. (Binglebee) Smith, native of Covington, died at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient for 20 years. He had been ill 20 years and seriously ill for the past two months. Mr. Smith was born in Covington April 26, 1898, the son of Franklin and Emma Calhoun Smith. Prior to his illness he worked on a railroad section gang. He was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Smith had never married. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Tullis of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Minnie May Harper of Columbia City. A number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The body is at the Hegg Funeral Home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Glenn Ray, pastor of the Covington Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside.   --typed by Walt W
