Hillsboro June 14 – Eli L. Smith, 79, lifelong resident of Fountain County died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, where he was admitted Tuesday night, suffering from a heart ailment. Born near Newtown, he belonged to the Union Christian Church near there. His wife, formerly Nellie Lighty died in 1947. Survivors are a son, William J. near Portland Arch and two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Adkins, near Veedersburg and Mrs. Delcie Ireland, Danville, Ill. - kbz
