WILLIAMSPORT, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Gracie Ann Smith, 87, of Hedrick community on Williamsport Route 3, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 11, 1971) at the Edgewood View Nursing Home in Oxford. She had been ill since May and seriously ill for a week. Born Jan. 3, 1884, near Foster in Warren County, she was the daughter of Charlie and Eunice Shephard Lape. She was married Nov. 2, 1902, in Williamsport to Leslie W. Smith, who died in 1965. Mr. Smith had been a mechanic and had operated a garage in Hedrick for many years. Mrs. Smith was an active member of the Hedrick Church of God. She had resided in Warren County all of her life and in Hedrick for the past 50 years. Survivors include a son, Ralph of Williamsport Route 2; two brothers, John Lape of Williamsport Route 3 and Elmer Lape of West Lebanon; and three sisters, Mrs. Acie Black of Boswell, Mrs. Florida Jones of Williamsport and Mrs. Ida Black of Danville. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, two sisters and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fisher Funeral Home in West Lebanon. The Rev. Russell Magaw will officiate. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.   --typed by Walt W
