SMITH, Grover C. - died 1948

Grover C. Smith, 63, died at St. Elizabeth's hospital in
Lafayette at 9:40 a.m. Sunday. July 14) A farmer and stock buyer,
Mr. Smith became ill Saturday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Haas
in Mellott. After receiving treatment there, he was taken
to the hospital.
Born Oct 21, 1884 in the Union neighborhood, he was the son
of John and Susan Moffitt Smith. He was married to Miss Ura
Foxworthy of Newtown, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Lew Smith of Lafayette, a brother Ed
Smith of Hillsboro, and a grandson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg and burial at the Masonic Cemetery in
