COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS)
– Howard Oren Smith, 56, of East Lake, Ohio, a former resident of Veedersburg,
died Friday (Sept. 21, 1973) in Ohio. He was born in Veedersburg, the son of
Eddie and Ruby Myers Smith. He married Pearl Shafter, who survives. Other survivors
include his mother, Mrs. Ruby Smith of Covington; a daughter, Mrs. Jone Del
Brocco of Willow Creek, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Mildred) Heath of
Danville and Mrs. Robin (Mary Pearl) Fogelman of Veedersburg; and a
granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father. He was employed at the
Fischer Body Co. in Cleveland for 22 years. Graveside services will be at 1
p.m. Monday at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Harold Fogle will officiate. The
body will be transferred from the Monreal Funeral Home in Willow Wick to the
Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Saturday. – jlr
