VEEDERSBURG, Ind.
(CNS) – Luther W. Smith, 67, of Veedersburg, died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday at the
St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville after a short illness. He was born Sept. 6,
1903, in Kentucky. He married Freda Cooper, who preceded him in death. He then
married Thelma Reagan at New Castle in 1962. He was a retired employe of the
Chrysler Corp. of New Castle. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Russell
Smith of Anderson and John Youce of New Castle; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Gregory
of New Castle and Mrs. Marie Smith of Anderson; two brothers, Clarence and Roy,
both of Hillsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Flora Groce and Mrs. Edna Warrick, both of
Hillsboro; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. EST Friday at the
Parham Funeral Home, with the Rev. Henry Stidham officiating. Burial will be in
South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Friends will be received at the funeral
home after 2 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
