KINGMAN — Margaret E. “Peggy” (Trueblood) Smith, 71 Kingman, died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 in the Waters of Covington. She had been admitted two weeks earlier. She was born May 1, 1930 in Warren County, the daughter of Milburn and Clara Dalton Trueblood. She married Charles F Smith Dec. 19, 1952 in Veedersburg. He preceded in death May 19, 1985. She was raised in the Tab and Pence area of Warren County, graduating from Williamsport High School in 1948. She lived in Williamsport for many years, moving to Veedersburg in 1991. In 1996 she moved to Kingman and lived there until moving to the nursing center. He worked as a social worker for the Warren County Welfare Department for 16 years and later for the Fountain County Welfare Department for 20 years until her retirement on June 1, 1985. She was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #259 of Williamsport. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with family. Surviving are: a son, Terry (girlfriend, Christy Freed) Smith, Kingman. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Lois Trueblood and a sister, Rosa Mae McClure. Public gravesite services and burial will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, is in charge of arrangements. – jlr
