Waynetown – Elmer Cecil Wade, 74, was burned fatally about 1 p.m. Wednesday in his home on Ind 47 south of Crawfordsville when his clothing apparently caught fire from a stone.  He was found by a neighbor in the kitchen near the bathroom door with his clothes burned from his body.  Wade was alone in the house at the time; his wife, Iva was working and a woman and her daughter who live in the house were also away. Wade was born in Fountain County and farmed near Mellott until about four years ago when he moved to the present home. In 1936 he married Iva Johns at Crawfordsville. He attended Dry Run school and was a member of Christian Undenominational Church. Surviving with the widow is a brother, Lloyd of Chicago. - kbz
