Esther Brown Wagoner, 69 of 602 Parke Ave died at 11 a.m. Saturday in Culver Union Hospital. Mrs. Wagoner worked at Indianapolis Bond & Share and served as assistant office manager for Penn Mutual Life Insurance at Indianapolis until 1937. She worked in law offices until 1971 and served as office manager for Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power for 5 years. In 1968 she became the first Montgomery County person certified as a professional secretary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and life member of Omega Chapter, Delta Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was active in the Democratic party. She was a 1933 graduate of Waynetown High School and graduated from Central Business College at Indianapolis in 1934. She was born at Waynetown on Feb 18, 1915 to Sylvester and Charlotte Vern Thompson Brown. She married James Lee Clarkson July 31, 1937. She remarried Dec 30, 1971 to Voyd S. Wagoner at Las Vegas, Nev. He survives. Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Barbara Squires of England; and two stepgrandsons. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Miller officiating. Burial will be in Wayneton Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
