Henry Waldrip, one of the few surviving veterans of the Civil War in this community suffered a severe attack of heart trouble about nine o’clock this morning.  Mr. Waldrip was making his usual trip down town when he fell unconscious in front of the JA Coffing Store.  He was picked up by Russell Robinson and WL Brown and carried into the store.  It just happened that Dr. AC Holley was passing and reached his side in a few seconds.  For a few minutes the doctor thought that Mr. Waldrip had been stricken instantly by death as there was not a sign of heart action then the patient began to breathe regularly and after some time regained consciousness.  He was taken to this home in the Coffing Ambulance later in the morning.
