Veedersburg, Ind. (CNS) — Daniel E. Walter, 52, of Veedersburg, died at noon yesterday (March 24, 1967) at the Cold Spring Veterans Facility in Indianapolis where he had been a patient the past three years. He was born July 8, 1914 in Veedersburg, a son of John Edward and Carrie Scherer Walter. He was a graduate of Veedersburg High and Wabash College, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He received his master's degree at Oberlin University in Ohio. Mr. Walter taught school in Ohio and also taught in a boys' school in Warrington, Va. A veteran of World War II, he was a first lieutenant in the Army, and a member of Charles Forrest American Legion Post at Veedersburg. Mr. Walter is survived by a sister, Mrs. Maxine Lutz of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, William of Indianapolis; a niece; and a nephew. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Parham Funeral Home, with burial in Rockford Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.   --typed by Walt W
