WALTERS, May Sluyter

Mrs. May Walters, 82, formerly of Mellott, died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1978, at the Monticello hospital. She has recently resided at Buffalo, Ind. She was born April 22, 1895, near Buffalo, the daughter of John S. and Ida B. Cloud Sluyter. On December 24, 1918, she was married to Rev. Guy Walters. They resided in Mellott for several years. Rev. Walter served three terms as pastor of the Mellott United Church of Christ. Surviving are two sons, Stanley, Mishawaka, Ind., and Warren of Lafayette; one brother, Marrol Shluyter of Buffalo; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the United Church of Christ at Buffalo. Burial in the nearby cemetery. The body is now at the Stewart Funeral Home at Monon. It will lie in state at the church from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday preceding the services.   -– jlr
