YEDDO VETERAN IS DEAD AT 84

WILLIAM WALTON PASSES AWAY AT DAUGHTER'S HOME IN TERRE HAUTE
Yeddo, April 12 Word has been received here that William Walton, 84, died at the home of his daughter in Terre Haute. Mr. Walton was a soldier in the Civil War. After returning home from the army he was united in marriage to Bashba [sic) Shell. They resided in Yeddo for 40 years and reared their family here. Several years ago they moved to Jasonvi lle and later to Terre Haute, where Mrs. Walton died. Mr. Walton was a regular attendant at the Yeddo Old Settlers meeting, having attended last year. Mrs. Martha Elwell, of Yeddo is his sister. He was the son of David R. and Ruth Walton, early pioneers. He was buried beside his wife in West Terre Haute Cemetery.
