Attica, April 27 – Thomas Wantland, 79, died this morning at 2 o’clock at his home at Elmdale, east of here, following an extended illness suffering from pneumonia. Born near her May 28, 1856 he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wantland Sr and married Mary Erwin 49 years ago. The widow and the following children survive: Mrs. Ethel Moran of Attica; Albert and Hugh of East Chicago; Mrs. Edith Brubaker of Hoopeston, ill; Josiah of Granite City, ill; Mrs. Emma Hendricks of Chicago and Mrs. Laura Flinn of Boswell. A brother Allen Wantland of Kansas also survives, along with 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The body was removed to Coffing & Robinson Funeral Home.
