Leota L. Ward, 87, 107 Sherry Lane, Attica, died at Home Hospital, Lafayette, Sunday, Feb. 3, at 6 p.m. She was born in Warren County, March 3, 1897, the daughter of Steven A. and Nettie Pearson O’Connor. She grew up in Covington, lived in rural Attica for several years and had lived inside Attica since 1964. She attended school near Covington. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a clerk for the Rozell Rexall Drug Store in Attica. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Attica. She was married May 26, 1915, in Covington, to William Thomas Ward Sr., who preceded her in death in 1958. Survivors include three sons, William Thomas Ward Jr., Mesa, Ariz.; Robert R. Ward, West Lafayette, and David L. Ward Sr., Attica; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Hayes, Lafayette, and Mrs. William (Laurean) Floyd, Attica; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Freemon and Charles O’Connor, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Dr. Otis Collier and the Rev. R. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Those so desiring may contribute in memoriam to the First United Methodist Church, Attica. Funeral services for Leota L. Ward, 87, 107 Sherry Lane, Attica, who died at Home Hospital, Lafayette Feb. 3 at 6 p.m., were held Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Dr. Otis Collier and the Rev. R. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Those who served as pallbearers were Robert Lee Ward, Jim Ward, Tom Ward, Dave Ward Jr., Steve Floyd, and Hughes Hayes. Honorary bearers were Bill Floyd, Kyle Hayes, Bill McAdams, Brad Wolfe, Mike Long, Mike Fritton, and Eon Price. - s
