WATERMAN, Arthur D.

Arthur D. Waterman, 53, prominent Fountain County farmer, died about 12:30 Thursday morning at his home near Mellott, after suffering a heart attack at the fire at the Fred Cronk farm near Mellott Mr. Waterman was
one of the County's best known farmers and civic leaders.  He was one of the early orgaanizers of the Fountain County Farm Bureau and served in its offices for many years.  At the time of his death he was a director of the Fountain County Co-operative Assn.  A life long resident of the Mellott vicinity, he was born Jan 1, 1893 and was married Jan 14, 1915 to Juanita Royal.  He is survived by the widow, two daughter, Miss Lucy Ellen Waterman of Indianapolis and Mrs. Robert Hughes of Mellott and two grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Congregational-Christian Church in Mellott with Rev. Guy Walters officiating.  Burial will be in Hillsboro at the Rose Hill Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz - thanks to Betty D.
