Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

WILLIAMSPORT - Louis Watkins, age 53 of Williamsport, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He had been a patient there since May 23 and had been in ill health since September. Mr. Watkins was born Dec. 8, 1914, at Greenhill, the son of John and Hester Ann Watkins. He was married Nov. 6, 1937, at Covington, to Grace Lucille Hove, who survives. He had resided in the Attica area most of his life, moving to Williamsport in March. He had been employed as a general laborer at the Lafayette Pipe Corp. Prior to that, he had been employed at the Forest Products Co. at Attica and had been a section hand for the Wabash Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: three sons, James of Williamsport, Richey and Ronnie both at home; one sister, Mrs. Mary Miller of Freetown; and one grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Desutter Funeral Home in Attica. The Rev. Harold Bachert officiated and burial was in Davis Cemetery near Greenhill.   -- jlr
