WELCH, Leah Woody Manwaring

Mrs. Leah Welch, 55, Montezuma, died at 5 a.m. Saturday in Vermillion County Hospital at Clinton following an operation July 6 in an Indianapolis hospital. She had been released from the Indianapolis hospital several days ago and was taken to the Clinton Hospital Thursday.    Mrs. Welch was born in Kingman July 9, 1889, the daughter of Thomas and Bell Woody. She was first married to Charley Manwaring, who preceded her in death. About three years ago she was married to Harry Welch, who survives.    In addition to the husband, she is survived by the parents; a brother, Roscoe Woody of Florida and five stepchildren, Mrs. Lee Norton of St. Louis, J. W. Welch with the Navy at Washington, D.C. and Martha, Alice and Allen, at home. – thanks to S
