Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Samuel C. White, 73, of Williamsport R 2, died Thursday, July 6, 1978, at the Community Hospital. He had been ill six months. White retired in 1967 after working 22 years at Harrison Steel in Attica. He also had been employed with the Wabash Railroad, Warren County Highway Department and as a farmer and trucker. Born Dec. 25, 1904, in Marshfield, he was a son of James E. and Minnie Gilman White. He married Retha Bush on June 30, 1930, in Kentland. She survives. He attended No. 10 and Marshfield schools. Other survivors include three sons, C. V. and Walter, both of Williamsport R 2, and Donald Dale of Attica; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Alice Bell of New Market and Mrs. Mary Jane Dillon and Judith Ann Farrar, both of West Lebanon; a brother Paul of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Spivey of West Lebanon; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services at the Fisher Funeral Home in West Lebanon. Rev. Grover Williams and Rev. William Thompson officiated. Burial in West Lebanon Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
